Slovak association of brewing history (SABH) in cooperation with microbrewery Kaltenecker in Rožňava and beer degustation KaltBier club in Rožňava organizes since 2009 competition in degustation of Slovak beers called Slovak Homebrewing Star. Every home brewer can join the competition if he satisfies conditions given for the year. There are two basic categories: beer made from brewing concentrate and beer made from raw materials and its subcategories (blonde, dark, special ...).

The winner gains the right to use the title and label „SLOVAK HOMEBREWING STAR“. Three finalists of individual competition categories are also announced.

This competition makes part of Beer festival in microbrewery Kaltenecker in Rožňava (the end of May).
